Sharing My World – Animals, Collections, and Fine Things

This week’s Share Your World questions:

Regarding animals would you prefer not having them around or having domestics pets, farm animals, or seeing them in nature or the zoo?

I love animals. I have always liked animals, but in the most recent years I have grown to love them more. Last year we had to give away our two amazing cats before our move to India and in the last 8 months we weren’t allowed to have pets so I volunteered at the shelter to get my animal fix. Last week we moved in to a new place where the owner and friend has permitted us to have pets and I really want a get a cat or two. Cats are my favorite animals. Since I was a kid I loved tigers and when I finally got a cat of my own a few years ago, I became a bit obsessed with them. 

When I was a kid we owned a ranch where we had horses, sheep and dogs. Unfortunately, my dad had to sell it when I was a teenager. If I could I would totally own a lot of land and have all kinds of animals to care for: cows, horses, dogs, cats, goats…

I also love seeing wild animals, from squirrels and birds to bigger animals. Having lived in the city most of my life, a squirrel, a blue bird or even a duck at a park wasn’t a common sight. I get really joyful when I encounter these creatures in their natural habitats.

Are you a collector of anything?

I loved collecting things as a kid and unto my teenage years. I have collected stickers, stationary, shells, currency, stuffed animals, and shot glasses. Now I just collect dust under the bed.

If you could know the answer to any question, besides “What is the meaning of life?”, what would it be?

Where can I buy cheap and good fabric for curtains and reupholstery? Not at all deep but it’s my question right now as my husband and I want to put up some curtains in our new place and I want to reupholster some chairs. Neither of us have attempted to do any of it and it hasn’t been easy so far to find good and cheap fabric.

If you were to treat yourself to the “finer things” what would you treat yourself to?

Oh man… As a Taurus, I love the “finer things” in life. My favorite “fine thing” is gourmet/restaurant quality food. So I would love to go to a Michelin star restaurant. It is not something I would feel right about spending on even if I had the money. I would also have a spa day: sauna, full body massage and hot tub sound great right now. Finally, I would buy some tickets to see a Broadway show and the ballet.
