Enjoy this Mexican twist on the traditional hummus with crackers, veggies or in a sandwich. Bring it to your next dinner party if you want to please everyone.
Well, everyone except those who hate cilantro, which seems to be a big bunch. I don’t know anyone personally though.
It is very easy to make, just blend all the ingredients together!
I used my nutribullet to make it since I don’t have a food processor.
Cilantro Lime Hummus Recipe
Yield – 1 1/2 cups
Ingredients
1 15 oz can of chickpeas (garbanzo beans), rinsed and drained
1/2 cup cilantro with stems
2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsps water
3 tbsp lime juice
3 tbsp tahini paste (here’s how to make your own)
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1/4 – 1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/8 – 1/4 tsp cayenne
Directions
In a food processor or blender combine all of the ingredients and blend until smooth.
Serve with crackers, veggies or on toast!
I just made a batch of my usual hummus this morning — I’ll have to try your twist next time. It looks very interesting!

I bet one could use something like parsley instead of cilantro for those who don’t like the taste. The lime juice is a nice addition.

I’ve made humus with cilantro before too, and absolutely LOVED it! With a whole lot of garlic, lime juice and cayenne thrown in too, it was a big hit 😉 Thanks for sharing!

Looks good. Hummus seems to have come into fashion a little bit here in DF! Fair to say I’ve been binging on it quite a lot in-between taco campechanos. I might have to give this a try 🙂

Sounds so easy….. never buying hummus AGAIN! 🙂 Thanks!

Yes, it is! You can make normal hummus by leaving out the cilantro and using lemon instead of lime. So good.
