This Week’s Small Pleasures #31

collagejan

The firsts few days of 2015 turned out pretty chill.

1. I popped my food processor cherry by making insanely good guacamole followed by flourless date coconut brownies (recipe coming.)

2. We stayed home for New Year’s and it was perfect. We had a bit of an international celebration. Italian by drinking prosecco and eating prosciutto wrapped melon, and Mexican by eating 12 grapes, a tradition that symbolizes luck for every coming month of the year. No hangover the next day.

 3. A clean house. We started off Saturday morning by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, changing the sheets, doing laundry and giving our dirtiest kitty a bath. It always feels good to have a clean house.

4. Once again, excellent Mexican food at ¿Por Qué No? in Portland.

    1. Hey Kylie! Better late than better right? My guacamole recipe consists of blending together: 1 garlic clove, 1 serrano chile seeded, 1/2 cup cilantro, 1 scallion, 3 avocados, 3-4 tbsps of lemon juice, pinch of cumin, 1/4 tsp salt. 😛
