This hot chocolate was made because the cravings I was having at the time could not be satisfied, and I’m glad I made it. There are a couple secrets to this drink to make it unique and amazing starting with a tablespoon of tahini.
I will be wearing these red-nosed reindeer slippers year-long.
The key to this hot chocolate is to melt chocolate in steaming milk for a more decadent and European taste. Sweeten a bit, add a pinch of salt and some homemade tahini and you got yourself a perfect warming winter dessert.
Adapted from this recipe. Ingredients Directions: Notes: if it’s not sweet enough, simply add more sweetener and stir in the cup. I don’t like mine super sweet. Tahini Hot Chocolate Recipe
3/4 cup milk of choice (I used Silk almond coconut milk blend)
1/2 tbsp agave nectar syrup (or sweetener of choice)
1 1/2 tablespoons homemade tahini (or store bought)
1 oz dark or bittersweet chocolate, chopped
pinch of himalayan pink salt or sea salt
Heat almond milk and agave syrup in a small saucepan, whisking to dissolve syrup, until steaming. Add tahini, chocolate and salt; whisk until smooth. Pour unto your favorite mug and enjoy!
Oooooh that sounds so yum! We are totally trying this in our winter 🙂
