Do you travel for business or pleasure? Why not both? When you travel for work and leisure, you get the best of both worlds. You can build a stable career while you get to visit countless new and wonderful places. Below are some of the best careers that give you the opportunity to travel.

Flight Attendant

A flight attendant career is perfect for anyone who loves traveling. You know the enjoyable feeling you get as the plane lifts into the air? As a flight attendant, you can’t expect that thrill to last forever, but you’ll still have the joy of exploring different places. One downside is that you might only get one or two days in each location, but a definite advantage is that you won’t be paying for the experience. Instead, your employer will be paying you to visit new destinations.

You’ll have to aim high to work for a major airline serving international destinations. Getting several days to explore India is a bonus, and cabin crew members also get travel benefits for family members. Customer service, fluent English, and the ability to swim are key in this career, and being a people person is vital.

Teaching English

Having TEFL Certification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) allows you to work practically anywhere in the world, from South Korea to Spain. Those who have a strong desire to travel and a sense of adventure often choose this career. The pay is decent, the job often comes with paid travel and accommodation expenses, and you’ll have the opportunity to explore new cultures and make friends with locals. Contracts vary from a few months to a few years, so you’ll have a lot of options.

Travel Blogger

If you can create a successful blog, you can use it to fund your travels and get the best deals along the way. Setting up a blog is easy, but you have to put in time and effort to attract readers and make your website a success. You’ll have to provide quality content with useful information that connects with readers. You can often increase your income by working with other companies and offering advertising, product reviews, sponsored posts, and giveaways.

The best part of travel writing is that you can go wherever you want as long as you can find Wi-Fi. This option is a good fit for introverts and those who prefer working independently.

Tour Guide

You certainly won’t get rich as a tour guide, but this is a career option that gives you exceptional opportunities to work and travel anywhere in the world. You’ll need skills in language and travel experience. Enthusiasm, patience, and leadership skills are also essential. The only disadvantage is that you’ll probably be in one place for a while and get to know it really well. Once you get bored, you can look for new tour guide opportunities in different exotic locations.

The world is full of possibilities if you’re looking to work and travel. Why not try one yourself?

  1. I’ve read about so many people who do that and just love it. It’s a simple enough job, and simple enough to get and there are so many options and places out there.
I don’t know how well I’d do teaching. I’ve never tried it but it sounds intimidating to me. I feel like I don’t have the confidence for it.

  2. Great post! There are lots of jobs out there that allow you to travel and even set your own schedule. While becoming a full-time travel blogger is a dream for many of us, I’ve found it is much easier to get a job that allows me to be location independent and fund my travel that way.
