Some years ago I went skiing to Val d’Isère in the French Alps with one of my best friend’s family. It was a very fun trip.
Val d’Isère is in the Rhône-Alpes region in southeastern France. It lies 5 km (3 mi) from the border with Italy.
Before this trip, all of my skiing trips had taken place in North America (Colorado and BC); this trip was a bit different. The major difference was that I was able to take off my jacket on the mountain because it was warm! There is no way I could do that in Whistler.
The mountains were stunning, with views of blue and white for miles.
My Spanish friend, Carolina and I had a lot of fun together and enjoyed being silly on the mountain.

Then we decided to remove our skis and slide down the hill, because why not?

And we chilled and had some food at the resting spot on the mountain.

Skiing is one of my favorite activities in the world. I learned as a kid, so I don’t know how it would be to try as an adult.

Like I told another reader, skiing is one of my favorite activities in the world. I just love it. Since you guys are adventurers, I’d definitely recommend it. It was take a bit of patience while learning to get to the real fun of it 🙂

I’ve skied only once in my life but it was a memorable trip with friends and something I still have very fond memories of 🙂 That was in the Himalayas, and it was beautiful

The scenery was amazing, but not quite as amazing as the 26 hour bus ride to get there ? I’m not doing that again in a hurry

It’s sounded like a good idea at the time, but halfway along the Karakoram Highway in the pitch black of night with a steep mountainside on one side and a steep drop-sans-railing on the other, we really did start to question our decision!
