Mount St. Helens is known as the volcano in the Pacific Northwest that erupted in 1980 and caused a lot of damage but people still enjoy going to observe it and hike it.
One day we spontaneously decided to drive 1hr 40min to the Johnston Ridge Observatory from where this Mount is accessible, but it was closed (the downsides of being spontaneous); so we had to settle with parking and observing from a distance.

Visited here on a cloudy, misty day about 15 years ago. I couldn’t see a thing. LOL.
