Top 5 Tips For Seattle Vacations

Traveling to Seattle soon? There is so much to do in this large city in the Pacific Midwest, so it is best to plan your trip wisely. Otherwise, you may come home without seeing everything you wanted to. To make sure your Seattle vacations go without a hitch, here are a few top tips for planning your trip to this corner of the USA!

Book Early For Good Hotel Deals

As with most cities in the USA, if you wait until just before you travel you should expect to pay a lot for your accommodation. Book early for some very attractive deals. It is also a good idea to look at price comparison websites, as many of these can offer a special discount. There are many different hotel websites out there, including Hotwire hotels. You should also think about booking your flights in advance if you are traveling by plane.

Rent A Car

Why stick to just Seattle when you have the whole of the Pacific Northwest on your doorstep! If you hire a car, you will be able to take a trip down to Portland, Oregon. It’s a three-hour drive there, but many locals regularly take this trip to sample the city’s famous coffee and craft beers. One the way down, you could also stop off at Mount Hood for some stunning views. Alternatively, head north up to Vancouver in Canada.

Try The Coffee

It’s not just Portland that is famous for its coffee. Seattle is the home of Starbucks! Head down to the Pike Place Market to see the very first Starbucks store. It is only quite small and very popular with visitors, so expect a queue if you want a coffee! If it looks too busy, head up to the roastery on Pike Street. You will be able to watch as the beans are roasted and prepared for coffee. There is also a lot more seating in this cafe, so you can usually get a seat with a good view of the roasting process!

Explore Capitol Hill

If you just fancy strolling around a neighborhood one day, make sure its Capitol Hill. It may be quite hilly to walk around, but it will certainly be worth it! If you are a fan of vintage stores, you’ll be in your element. There are tons of second-hand stores and cute boutiques. You’ll also be spoiled for choice when it comes to eateries and coffee shops.

Space Needle

Of course, no trip to Seattle is complete without a trip up the iconic Space Needle. The observational tower is now the city’s most defining symbol, especially since it appeared so frequently on the TV show Frasier. If you want a romantic meal for two, book a table in the Space Needle’s revolving restaurant. You will need to buy a ticket to head up to the top. It is possible to buy a combination ticket that also allows you access to the nearby Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum.
