Last month, we decided to take a spontaneous 2 night trip to Victoria, BC for my birthday. As per usual, we booked accommodations through Airbnb and our B&B with views of the Craigdarroch Castle was absolutely perfect, from the room, to the breakfast and the location. Here’s my full review of The Craigmyle B&B.
The Room
Our room at The Craigmyle B&B was a Queen room on the third floor, which felt more of a King. The ethereal beauty of the interior decoration with an abundance of light from the whites made me feel like I was in Paris. The room was definitely small but we didn’t mind in the slightest. I am picky with mattresses and I slept amazing.
The Breakfast
The daily continental breakfast was a very pleasant surprise. An absolutely perfect offering of delicious organic and non-gmo foods, as well as gluten-free and vegan options. Yay Canada.
Although only continental, it wasn’t short of a great breakfast and included: cereal, homemade granola, fresh fruit, greek yogurt, hard boiled eggs, different kinds of bread, bagels, a variety of spreads, pastries, coffee and a selection of teas. The dining area is also very well naturally lit with views of the castle.

The complimentary breakfast saved us a bit of money and gave us enough energy to start our day exploring Victoria.
The hosts were very friendly too.
Amenities
The amenities included:
– Access to Apple computers in common living room
– Free local calling, Canada/USA (phones in common areas)
– Guest Kitchen – daily luncheons and dinners can be prepared and enjoyed in dining room or patio
– Guest Laundry
– Bike Rental and Smart Car Rental on site
– Free WIFI
– Free parking
Location
The location is perfect. It is a short drive to everything and in a quiet setting. Also close access to public transit.
And for the cherry on top, The Craigdarroch Castle is basically in this B&B’s backyard!
Two nights wasn’t nearly enough for our stay. We would’ve loved to enjoy and sleep in our room for a few more nights.
Although we booked our room through Airbnb, you can also book directly through their website and several other hotel booking websites.
Our room was only $86/night! Amazing value for what you get. But the price is subject to change. They also offer bigger rooms for higher rates as well as weekly rates, and prices may vary depending on the season.
Note: The Craigmyle is a heritage property with space constraints and they are not permitted to have an elevator. They cannot accommodate those with mobility restrictions including going up flights of stairs.
If you ever find yourself going to Victoria BC, I cannot recommend The Craigmyle B&B enough.
