This Week’s Small Pleasures #60

aug collage

This week was pretty routinely but I had some achievements and great garden harvests. These were my small pleasures:

1. I had a few physical achievements this week. A new deadlift PR (personal record) and my first kipping hand stand pushups. I deadlifted 130 pounds! It’s not much to a lot of people and I’m still the “weakest” in my class but it was quite amazing to do so. I had tried and failed 120 pounds just a few minutes before, but I worked up to it little by little and was able to do 130. I put all of my energy into it. It was exciting.

2. I made a batch of fresh agua de jamaica. Brings me back to my hometown and it’s so good. Check out the recipe.

3. The weather this week was pretty wonderful. None of that 90-100 degree weather nonsense. We still looking pretty dry though, we need some rain.

4. I made these. They were pretty good. I enjoyed them while having some hard cider and watching MasterChef.

    1. Haha, I think carrying my groceries made me stronger because I try to carry them all at once to avoid multiple trips! 🙂
