Not a great week. Last Sunday I woke up with a fever and after a call to my doctor's after-hours nurse line, I was sent a prescription for antibiotics to treat mastitis. New motherhood has truly been beating me up, but the beauty of it is that the result makes it all worth it. Having this little cute bundle of joy in my life is the best thing ever.  (more…)

So this week I was checking out an acoustic duo (Jenny & Tyler) on Spotify and suddenly they were singing about Christmastime. And then another Christmas song came after that. Apparently, I reached their Christmas album. I admit I let a few songs play before moving on to a different band. So, that's my first Christmas music of the season. I'm excited about Christmas. I always am because it has always meant a happy time

Rough week. For starters, on Tuesday there was a scary earthquake in my hometown, Mexico City where most of my friends and family live. My mom tried to call soon after but I was trying to catch some zzz since life with a newborn is tiring. When she finally got ahold of me she showed me through a video call the damage that was done to the apartment where I grew up. How so many

The last time I posted a "Weekly Small Pleasures" I was about 38 weeks pregnant. Today my baby girl is 3 weeks and 2 days. It has been a rollercoaster in the last few weeks but I'm ready to include some of the small pleasures as of late. This week I finally started to get a little bit more time and a bit more rest as my baby girl is kinda starting to get into a

Had a bit of a rough week. Spending half a day outdoors in 100+ degree F weather last Saturday while 37 weeks pregnant, put me out of service for 3 days. Felt really bad and I thought I would feel that way for the remaining of the pregnancy. Every time I have a couple of bad days, as in I feel tired and not up to doing anything, I feel that I won't come out

This week was very different to the usual because Josh was traveling for work Monday to Thursday. This meant I had the car to myself and I didn't have to cook or clean much, kind of at all. So instead of sitting at home alone in my computer all day, I went into "run-errands mode" and kept myself quite busy. (more…)

I found most of this week there wasn't much for me to do, because I can't actually do much. Since I am so far along my pregnancy, I find I get tired more easily of just sitting in front of the computer, or just standing (like while cooking). And somehow there just wasn't much cleaning to do either. I attempted to get a headstart on the moving packing but one box later, I found I

Summer officially started this week and Austin definitely got the memo. With almost daily highs in 100s F I'm not a happy girl. I really can't take the heat very well and it's sad my daily riverside walks had to stop because it's like 90s already by 10 am and doesn't really start to cool off until 8 pm :(. In spite of this terrible news for me, I definitely had some small pleasures this week: (more…)
