Candid Shots of People Around The World

I have to admit I rarely ask a person’s permission for me to take a picture of them. I don’t think this is totally right, but my shy side usually prevents me from going for it. Because of that, I end up with a lot of candid photos of people, which basically means they are unaware they are having their picture taken.

Who knows, maybe you will end up in my blog one day! Below, enjoy photos of people around the world doing their own thing naturally without posing; from a dancer hanging from a rope, to a boy buying jewelry.

  1. Hard to choose there were a lot of these I really liked. But I think the shoe man wins out in my book.

  2. Wow, these are lovely 🙂 I too am really shy about asking if I can take people’s photos but some of my favourite photos to look at are are portraits. Thanks for sharing your beautiful shots!

  3. I don’t like to ask people either. In fact, often I lose great photo ops only because I don’t like to be intrusive either. At the same time, people are my favorite subjects so I am always torn. Anyway….love the people you captured here!

    1. Landscapes and architecture are my favorite subject but I still enjoy taking photos of people every now and then. Especially in India!

  4. My husband does not like to have his picture taken. If I try to sneak a picture where he can see me, inevitably his hand goes up and all I capture is part of a blurry face. So, I have started taking pictures of him as we hike. From behind, I capture the beauty of our surroundings and my husband’s silhouette.

    1. I like that. I totally like taking photos of people from behind at a distance when they’re walking on trails.

  5. Hi Mani, I like candid shots of people at work, for example your pic of the shoe man in Mexico. That said, if I’m taking pics of old people or children, I usually ask permission first.

    1. Yeah, I should probably ask for permission more.
