Sharing My World – Living, Music, and Language

These are this week’s questions from the Share Your World Challenge by Cee:

How many places have you lived? You can share the number of physical residences and/or the number of cities.

10 residences. 6 cities (well, one wasn’t a city). 4 countries.

Mexico City. 1 house and 1 apartment. (19 years)

London. 1 flat. (1 year).

South Carolina. 1 condo and 1 house. (1 year +)

North Carolina. 2 apartments and 1 house. (3 years)

India. 1 house. (4 months)

Portland, Oregon. 1 house. (7 months and counting)

What type of music relaxes you the most?

Ballet Rehearsal, 1873 by Edgar Degas source

Classical. I love classical music. I think my love for it comes from my love for ballet. I started ballet when I was 5 years old, and it has always been one of my passions even though I didn’t pursue it strongly. Mozart and Tchaikovsky being amongst my favorite.

I really like Enya too.

If you could instantly become fluent in another language, what would that language be and why?

Hindi. I already know fluent English and Spanish, and I don’t have an interest for learning Chinese, so Hindi is another one of the most spoken languages in the world and one that I have familiarity with but don’t speak. I did start learning last summer but failed to continue after a few months :s

If you could fly or breathe under water what would you prefer?

The first time I read this question I thought it meant: “if you could fly (under water) or breathe under water…”

“Fly under water?” I thought. I guess that’s swimming, and then I figured the question didn’t mean fly under water, it meant just fly.

I pick fly. Definitely. I would love to be able to fly. I love traveling and I am starting to get tired of flying by plane already. I’d love to soar above Portofino, Alaska, The Great Barrier Reef, and Patagonia. *sigh*

  1. Liked your link to many of the places you’ve slept–I can’t imagine the Camry being very comfortable! I found your blog tagline amusing, how you both traveled so far to end up together. 🙂

  2. Thanks so much for sharing. You’ve really lived a lot of places and now we are both in Oregon.

  3. Hindi is a language I’d like to learn to speak too, and also learn to write. The writing is fascinating and I’d love to be able to read it.
