On The Move Around The World

I feel like we live in an era of paradox. I feel like there are more sedentary people than ever sitting in front of the computer or tv for hours at a time, but I also feel there are more people on the move, traveling great distances and to faraway lands. People have the travel bug more than ever, young people want to explore the world and more than ever, it is accessible to us via cars, trains, boats and airplanes.

I love traveling. My favorite modes are trains and boats, and I greatly enjoy being at airports. I’m getting a bit tired of uncomfortable plane rides to be honest, but they’re worth it.

Whether I like it or not, I seem to be on the move a lot.

Como siempre, fabulosas fotos! favourite means of transportation? Well, I made my first airplane trip from Karachi to Paris when I was 6 months in a DC4. I still remember travelling in a Super constellation (Propellers, not reactors) to Africa. There were bunks in first class like in old pre WWII ships! with little curtains for privacy. Planes then were comfy. Modern airplanes suck. And are designed to…

Ah! y me encanta la primera foto. Great shot in the rearview mirror. Nowadays, if I could avoid planes I would. Walking is the best but kinda limits your traveling distances! 🙂

I’d like to experience traveling by train. We thought about taking the Amtrak to California next month but the website doesn’t make it easy to plan a trip and it’s almost as expensive as flying. Someday I’d like to take the train from southern England up to Scotland.

  Yeah, the amtrak website is not very easy to use, and also true, amtrak is not very cheap at all. But it would be fun! 😉 I’ve mostly been on trains around Europe, had the europass one summer.

Another great post; your pics of the Moscow-St. Petersburg train brought back fond memories.

I also like your reference to all the places you slept on your travels. I couldn’t even begin to add up all of mine. A for effort! 🙂
