I just love mango. Mango is definitely my favorite fruit. I like it in all its forms, including smoothies. Mango is the star in this smoothie accompanied with other healthy goodies like flaxseed, almonds, oats, and some mild tasting but super healthy romaine lettuce that sneakily hides from all the other flavors.
Romaine lettuce is high in Vitamin C and K, fiber and potassium.
I used vanilla rice milk in this smoothie which complements the mango really well. It is delicious in oatmeal too.
Mango and Rice Milk Smoothie With Sneaky Romaine
1 fresh mango, or 1 cup frozen
3/4 cup of romaine lettuce (I used a bit more)
2 tsps rolled oats
1 tsp Flax Seed Meal
1 small bunch of almonds
Vanilla Rice Milk as needed (about 1 cup)
Blend everything together until smooth
Enjoy with a straw!
Notes: You can substitute with any choice of milk and I would add some lemon or lime juice next time.
