Spring has got all of us thinking about holidays and adventures. If you’re looking for a destination with a difference this spring, why not consider Dubai? This magical metropolis will enchant and mystify you.

When to visit Dubai

Dubai doesn’t have distinctive seasons like we do in the US. It’s hot all year round and you’re pretty much guaranteed sunshine whenever you visit. In the summer months, the temperatures reach a whole new level, and this can be unbearable for some visitors. If you’re looking to enjoy outdoor pursuits, or you’re not a fan of intense heat, it’s best to visit in spring or fall. Travelling to Dubai is also a fantastic idea if you’re looking to beat winter blues.

What to do in Dubai

Dubai is a land of contrasts and there’s plenty to keep visitors of all ages occupied. The bustling urban centres are bursting with opulent hotels and designer shopping malls. Dine surrounded by sharks, enjoy the views from rooftop terraces or shop up a storm. Down by the water, you’ll find all kinds of exhilarating sports and activities. Try your hand at traditional watersports or embrace the latest trend of jetpacking. If you’re after a lazier day, head for the poolside sunbeds and top up your tan.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you’ll encounter a different world in the desert. Here you can enjoy peace and tranquillity and take in incredible panoramic views. Enjoy a bumpy camel ride or set your pulse racing with a quad biking adventure. Scale the dunes in a buggy, or enjoy a relaxing massage with a view. Dine under the stars and keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife.

When you return to the city, make for the energetic bazaars and marvel at the vivid colours. Haggle for a bargain, or simply step back and watch the world go by.

Where to stay

Accommodation in Dubai tends to be big, bold and brassy. Nothing is off limits here, and you’ll find some of the world’s most luxurious lodgings. Skyscrapers dominate the twinkling skyline. You’ll find suites fit for royalty, and all the amenities you could possibly imagine. If you’re visiting on a budget, don’t be alarmed. There are hotels to suit every traveller and you can enjoy the splendour of Dubai without spending a fortune on a room. Search online and compare prices to get the best deals. There is a plethora of options within the city, offering direct access to the beach. Most of the larger hotels also boast private beaches. If you’re looking for something more tranquil, head out to the desert.

You can be as docile or as daring as you wish here and it’s an excellent destination for couples, families and solo travellers.
