This Week’s Small Pleasures… ?

Last weekend was terrible, and this week wasn’t that great either.

There were electricians and construction workers working in the house all week. Usually not a very peaceful thing.

Yesterday was supposed to be fun, but things didn’t go quite as they should have. There were going to be workers installing a heat pump all day in our place so we decided to be out.

Our stop at Starbucks was terrible. For some reason both of our coffees tasted terrible. I don’t know how they can mess them up.

We went to the Bite of Oregon, a food festival in Portland by the waterfront. Sounds awesome right? We were disappointed. The food we had was pretty bad. I’ll write more about it in another post.

Then, we decided to turn our minivan into an awesome chill spot and drive to a park. Of course as soon as we settled, a guy with a weed wacker starter working pretty much next to us. The annoying, loud noise made us go back home.

I will spare you the rest of the details, but basically, all our attempts to be chill or have fun failed for one reason or another.

That I can think of, my favorite moments of the week consisted of picking sungold tomatoes (my favorite) from the garden. I’ve never been able to simply go outside my house and pick food as I’ve lived in a city most of my life. This is definitely a small pleasure I am enjoying very much.  Another pleasure was tasting a new chocolate which was delicious.

It could’ve been a lot worse.
