This Week’s Small Pleasures

happycollagesept

I was gonna skip this week’s small pleasures because at first I thought there weren’t really any, but then I gave it a little bit of thought and realized that there were.

This is why I started this series, because we usually take for granted or forget the small things that made us smile or happy inside every day. It is nice to remember those things and feel grateful. I invite you to join in with me in this blog event. Scroll down for more info.

The things that made me happy inside this week were:

1. NFL season started!

2. Hubby worked from home on Friday (instead of commuting). It always makes me happy to spend more time with him, we’re corny like that.

3. Got a free chocolate chunk cookie from Starbucks. Free cookies always = happiness.

4. Finally got around to washing our bed comforter! For weeks I’ve been wanting to wash it but it doesn’t fit in our washer so I had to take it to the laundromat. A clean bed = happiness.

5. I have been watering the tomato plants every day and picking some every other day. (As I mentioned last week, my roommate is traveling and assigned me caretaker of her plants.) Gardening soothes my soul.

What made you happy this week?

  1. There are always small pleasures! 🙂 I do like how you do this every week. It seems like a great way to remember to be grateful. I’ve tried doing this as a daily practice before, just in my journal, but I could never stay with it. But I like this digital format and how you post a picture of every one.

  2. Some weeks one has to dig deeper for the small positives. Good for you to find them. Today we ran a 10km race under beautiful skies. I didn’t feel i had trained enough but the sunshine and gorgeous mountains made it a happy time.
