Protein Cacao Snack Truffles

As soon as I tasted these I knew I had to share them with you. I loved them. These protein cacao snack truffles are the perfect post-workout snack or really for any time of day.  They are packed full of healthy and tasty ingredients and are just lightly sweetened with honey. I highly recommend them!

Not only are these delicious and healthy, they are also super easy to make. Just process all of the ingredients together, roll into balls and then roll into any of your chosen coatings.

Protein Cacao Snack Truffles

  • Servings: 16 truffles
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print

1 cup gf rolled oats
1/4 cup peanuts
1/4 cup cashews
1/4 flaxseed meal
1/4 cup cacao powder
1 tbsp maca powder
1 scoop chocolate pure sfh protein powder or 30 grams of the protein powder of your choice
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp virgin coconut oil
chia seeds and more cacao powder for coating (optional)


Process all of the ingredients together in the food processor (I use this one).
Then roll into balls about a tablespoon size.
Sprinkle some more cacao powder and chia seeds on a plate and roll balls around to coat them.


  • You can use other coatings like sprinkles and hemp seeds or skip them entirely.
  • All of these links to the ingredients are of products that I personally use and like.
  • I stored mine in the refrigerator but you could probably store them in the pantry for about a week.

  5. I want to think I’ll like this stuff. But I bought something called TRU RA Sweet Nibs, and they tasted like…well, not good.


    1. haha, what you bought is 100% cacao and apparently the tiniest bit of sweetness. It’s best to add them to stuff like oatmeal, yogurt, smoothies etc than it them by themselves or you can get used to the taste. This recipe I promise is very delicious. In fact you could add some of those nibs to them!
