This Week’s Small Pleasures #62

See what were my small pleasures this week:

1. This week we gain extra appreciation for our two cats. Experiencing their loss in a way showed us how much they filled our home, and scooping the litter box and cat hair on our bed doesn’t seem as bad anymore. At least they are super happy. It’s was a general reminder to appreciate what you have before you lose it and to learn to be detached. 

2. We decided to have a spontaneous movie night on Wednesday and we went out for a beer and to see The Man from U.N.C.L.E. It was quite good.

3. When the weekend arrived we had another movie night and went to get some cheap food and to our favorite independent theater to watch Phoenix. I couldn’t stop thinking about for a while, it produced all kinds of emotions in me. A critic says: “Never less than intriguing, coolly intelligent and flawlessly paced, “Phoenix” often feels trapped in the logic of its conceit.” The Hitchcock influence is obvious in a masterful way. And the ending was just plain perfect. So good.

4. A friend of our landlord came by to give us 4 bags of frozen berries from her mom’s garden. It was a sweet (no pun intended) gift. I love berries!
